The call for proposals of the LIFE 2023 Programme opened last May 2023. The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) from the European Commission oversees this programme, a funding instrument from the European Union dedicated to the environment.
This year LIFE will have an allocated budget pf 611 million euros, higher than the last edition (598 million). As in previous years, LIFE counts on 4 sub programs that share this budget: Nature and Biodiversity (148,4M), Circular Economy and Life Quality (81M), Climate Adaptation and Mitigation (66,35M) and Clean Energy Transition (100M).
Currently there are 30 open calls for proposals, divided into these actions: Standard Action Projects (SAPs), Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs), Strategic Nature Projects (SNAPs), Technical Assistance for Preparation of SIPs/SNAPs (TA-PP), Technical Assistance for Replication (TA-R), Other Action Grants (OAGs), Projects Addressing ad hoc Legislative and Policy Priorities (PLPs) y Operation Grants (every 3 years) (OGs). The main news for this 2023 call, compared to the previous one, are these: SNAPs are published every 2 years – this year there are none – and there is a new action, the TA-R.
All these calls for proposals have been published in the Funding & tender opportunities portal. The dates for each kind of action are as follows:
